After this I'll stop spamming the forums, I'm just excited!
I don't like hiding from my opinions so i want to openly record my opinions so I can look back on them mid year, end of year, end of 2 seasons and see if I still feel the same way and see who I was wrong about. I'd be interested to see anyone elses as well!
Favorite: Shaquem Griffin is too easy, he's everyone's favorite pick so I'm gonna instead go with Tre Flowers. Been watching some games of his and I'm sold on his massive potential. I love his freakishly long arms. I love his reading of plays. I see him knocked for his tackling a lot. What I see isn't specifically bad tackling, but rather inconsistent tackling. I believe Seattle is the best place to fix that! Hope he fights his way into a starting spot.
Least Favorite: Rasheem Green. I don't see that thing that he does really well. He's a pretty well rounded guy, seems about as decent at everything, but what I fall in love with is when a guy does something incredibly well. Sounds like there's some technical inconsistencies (not complete faults) that's holding him back in most areas so there's a lot of potential for that well rounded decent at everything to become well rounded very good at everything and maybe above, but for now he's the pick that gets me the least excited. Also doesn't inspire confidence that Dalton Schultz (Although he is a monster), a Tight End, punked Green so hard he earned a personal "Weakness" bullet under Green's NFL draft profile.
The one that got away: Tim Settle. This guy was on the board far later than I feel he should have been. Seattle probably didn't have him on their board as they passed on him with 2 picks that realistically could have gone Settles way, but I think he should have been. Washington scooped him up 6ish picks before we would have had another shot at him. Settle fights in bursts but I love it. Sometimes he'll trash the lineman on the opening assault. If he doesn't he gets tied up on those blocks... BUT the X factor I fell in love with... If the ball carrier wanders into his range (Bigger than you might think) while he's tied up, he instantly bursts and sheds the block and wraps him. Nearly every single time.
Will Tre Flowers suck? Will Green be great? Will Settle be ultimately irrelevant? It's exciting to see!
I'm interested in Will Dissly and how he fits into the team. Are Seattle zigging while the other NFL teams zag by focusing on a run first team?
Great post Dustin! I really need to be doing a better job of promoting the forum but time is pretty stretched!
My favourite is Penny with my least being Jacob Martin, not convinced he will make the roster.
