Roster Moves: Seahawks add veteran Dwight Freeney to defensive line

Roster Moves – Seahawks sign future Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney

The Seahawks worked out Dwight Freeney yesterday and subsequently put pen to paper on a one year deal to help with the teams pass rush.

The move comes after Cliff Avril was added to injured reserve and ineligible to play until at least week 15. Michael Bennett is also playing through a plantar fascia injury so its no surprise the team added a veteran to shore up the line.

Freeney was drafted by the Colts where he spent the majority of his career however has also spent time with the Chargers, Cardinals and most recently, the Falcons. He has an impressive 122.5 sacks on his career and looking to add to that number in Seattle.

Another veteran presence on the Hawks defensive line is a welcomed addition, his experience and expertise will surely aid the likes of Frank Clarks career.

He will certainly be a rotational piece and can really bring something to the table for 10-15 snaps a game on sure-thing passing downs. His spin move has to be seen to be believed!
